Research/Scholarship Presentation @ ISJAC 2017 Symposium

  • University of South Florida 3755 USF Holly Drive Tampa, FL, 33620 United States (map)

I will be giving a presentation of my master's thesis at the 2017 International Society of Jazz Arrangers and Composers Symposium at the University of South Florida. The document, "Jazz Chamber Music: An Analysis of ChrisPotter's Imaginary Cities and a Musical Composition", was complete for my Master of Music in Jazz Studies from Youngstown State University (2016)

The subject of my master's thesis is mixed ensemble jazz composition; specifically Imaginary Cities, the 2015 release of saxophonist and composer, Chris Potter. This scholarship was furthered by an original composition inspired by my analysis of Potter's music and other musicians that inspire me.

You can find the full document of my master's thesis here.

More information on the date and time of the presentation will be given once solidified. The 3rd Annual ISJAC Symposium takes place from May 18-20, 2017.
